One person is dead after a serious crash in Coquitlam that ended with a white car upside-down Sunday evening.
Gatensbury Street and Como Lake Avenue were closed in all directions around 7 p.m. as first responders rushed to help the injured.
The force of the accident flipped a white vehicle onto a fence, and one person did not survive.
Police say three vehicles were involved, and one other person was taken to hospital.
Alex O'Donnell told CTV Vancouver he rushed to help, but it was too late.
"I tried to open the window and tried to get my arm in to get communication. There was nothing from the driver, just the passenger," he said.
Two other vehicles were in the area surrounded by police tape and numerous fire trucks and ambulances.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, though witnesses say it appears the white vehicle may have been t-boned at the intersection.
People living in the area say many drivers speed through the area.

People in the area say speed is a huge issue along this stretch. Not first crash here. RCMP say cause unclear pic.twitter.com/5xi6JeaB6Q
