A collision between a train and a logging truck caused a major derailment in Burns Lake Friday morning.

The train rammed into the truck at an uncontrolled crossing about 20 kilometres west of the north-central Interior village around 7 a.m.

The impact knocked two locomotives and 22 cars off the track, but no one was seriously injured.

A small diesel leak at the crash site was quickly contained.

Canadian National Railway police are investigating the accident and crews are expected to spend the coming days cleaning up the mess.
