Track work on the contested Arbutus Corridor has been suspended pending a meeting between rail and city officials.

The City of Vancouver says it is meeting with senior CP Rail staff to discuss the future of the Arbutus Corridor.

Work on the track will be suspended for the next two to three weeks, but CP Rail says work will resume “if a reasonable solution has not been found in this timeframe.”

Spokesperson Breanne Feigel said the rail company is hopeful a resolution can be reached.

CP Rail started bulldozing gardens along the once-abandoned 11-kilometre-long rail line earlier this month after a dispute with the city over the value of the land.
