A 37-year-old man has been arrested after a bizarre attack in East Vancouver early Thursday that sent two women to hospital.
According to witnesses, the suspect smashed a ground floor window of an apartment building on Carolina Street near 7th Avenue at around 2 a.m.
The suspect then reportedly crawled through a window and into an apartment.
Witnesses said he then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and started to swing it around.
A 19-year-old woman suffered a punctured lung in the attack while a 39-year-old woman was hit with a blunt object, according to police.
Both women were taken to hospital.
Poilce said the suspect knew someone living in the apartment.
Vancouver police have recommended charges in the incident.
