A violent sex offender who cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet and fled Canada for the U.S. in 2013 has been accused of raping a Seattle senior.

Police allege Michael Stanley broke into the 69-year-old victim’s home through a window on Friday morning and attacked her.

No weapon was used and the victim suffered only minor injuries, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Stanley was arrested the next day and the 49-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Stanley, a U.S. citizen, been living as a homeless registered sex offender in Seattle since crossing the border unchallenged in October 2013.

Police arrested him shortly after his arrival, but Canadian authorities chose not to extradite him.

He has a long history of sex offences against women and children in Canada, including an attack against an elderly woman in a wheelchair for which he served nine years in prison.

He also once served 32 months for the assault and confinement of two boys with disabilities.
