Vancouver police confirm they’re investigating a frightening home invasion committed in the city’s posh Shaughnessy neighbourhood Sunday evening.

Police said three men forced their way into a basement suite near 37th Avenue and Maple Street shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Once inside, they allegedly attacked the lone man living inside and stole an undisclosed number of items.

“The men are believed to have been associated to a vehicle that was presumably used to escape,” Sgt. Randy Fincham said in a statement.

Police have not released descriptions of the three suspects or the potential suspect vehicle.

Fortunately, the victim only suffered minor injuries, which were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The motive for the home invasion hasn’t been confirmed, but police said it appears to have been targeted.
