The two intended targets of a late-night shooting at a home in a residential Surrey neighbourhood are not cooperating with police.

Police responded to reports of gunshots at a residence on 62 Avenue around 11 p.m. Monday night, and witnesses said they saw a South Asian man wearing a mask running away from the area.

People inside the home called police to report that shots were being fired at two people who were inside the garage.

“The two intended victims are known to police and it is believed that this was a targeted attack,” Sgt. Paul Hayes said in a statement.

Mounties blocked off the street with yellow tape as they conducted their investigation.

A neighbour who did not want to be named told CTV Vancouver he heard eight or nine shots. Another neighbour said he tells his children to stay away from the home, and says cars are coming and going at odd hours.

No one was injured in the shooting, and it’s unclear if the incident is linked to recent shootings in the city.
