Mounties are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest after 47 vehicles were vandalized over a single weekend in North Vancouver.

An estimated $100,000 in damage was caused on the B.C. Day long weekend, from Aug. 2 to 4, according to the RCMP.

The unidentified vandal used a key or key-like object to scratch vehicles in various car dealership lots in the city.

Cpl. Richard De Jong said officers have obtained and reviewed footage from multiple surveillance cameras and identified one person of interest in the case.

He is described as a heavy-set, balding white man, 50-60 years old, who was wearing a yellow shirt, green shorts, black watch and black boots.

Anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts is asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP detachment at 604-985-1311, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS if they wish to remain anonymous.
