Lululemon founder Chip Wilson is proposing to build an 8,000 square foot heliport dock float outside of his $57.6-million Point Grey Rd. mansion -- or so someone would have Vancouverites believe.

“We have received a Development Application from A. Foolisch Engineering Inc. to develop a fixed position floating heliport dock at the above noted address [3085 Point Grey Rd.],” the sign reads, claiming the heliport will “accommodate guests and business clients”.

But could the sign be an elaborate April Fool’s Day prank orchestrated by Wilson himself?

A Google search of "A. Foolisch Engineering Inc." reveals nothing. Calling the phone number on the sign is equally fruitless -- an automated female voice announces that everyone is out of the office until Wed., April 1.

This wouldn’t be the first time Wilson has proposed a controversial structure on one of his properties -- prank or not. His plan to build a 2,500-square-foot dock at his Sunshine Coast home was fiercely opposed by neighbours earlier this year.

Reactions to the elaborate April Fool's Day prank have been mixed.

“I think it’s great,” said one man, chuckling. “I mean it’s nice to have a sense of humour even when you’re a millionaire.”

“I got my wife good last night – boy was she irate!” laughed another neighbourhood man.

The City of Vancouver confirmed with CTV that the sign is not official, noting that “it looks like an early April Fool’s Day joke.”

Wilson, who announced his resignation from Lululemon’s board in February, has yet to claim credit for the prank. His 30,000-square-foot mansion on Point Grey Road is the most expensive home in B.C.
