A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after a train crashed into her car Thursday afternoon in Langley.
Witnesses said her car drove through a railway crossing stop sign and onto the tracks near the intersection of Smith and Glover roads around 5 p.m.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Mounties warned the train was stopped blocking the Glover Road intersections at 216 Street, Crush Crescent and Smith Crescent. Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes.
Anyone who witnessed the crash but hasn’t spoken to police is asked to call the Langley RCMP detachment at 604-532-3200.
