Police in Langford are asking the public for help as they investigate the circumstances that led to a man's death in the city earlier this week.
So far, West Shore RCMP have found no evidence to suggest there was any foul play involved in the man's death, but the detachment said in a news release Thursday that its investigation is ongoing.
The man was found unconscious and lying on the sidewalk near the intersection of Claude Road and Goldstream Avenue around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
When officers arrived at the scene, paramedics and firefighters were already present and attempting to save the 40-year-old man's life, according to Mounties.
Unfortunately, the Langford resident died at the scene.
Police are asking anyone who was walking or driving on Claude Road between 9 and 10 p.m. Tuesday and may have seen the man with his dog before he fell unconscious to contact them.
They're also seeking dash cam video from anyone who was driving in the area at the time.
Police said the man was walking a black, medium-sized dog and was wearing dark jeans and a light-coloured coat. They described him as white, but did not provide any information about his height, weight or features.
West Shore RCMP asked anyone with information that could assist in the sudden death investigation to call them at 250-474-2264.
