VANCOUVER -- The Vancouver Canucks signed forward Vasily Podkolzin to a three-year entry-level contract Sunday.

Vancouver selected the six-foot-one, 190-pound forward in the first round, No. 10 overall, in the 2019 NHL entry draft.

Podkolzin, 19, appeared in 35 games with SKA St. Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League this season. He recorded five goals and 11 points during the season before adding a club-leading 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 16 playoff games.

Over parts of three seasons with SKA St. Petersburg, Podkolzin has registered 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 68 regular-season games. He has accumulated 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 20 playoff contests.
