A security guard and a female employee at Montecristo Jewelers were injured after armed gunmen stormed the Oakridge Shopping Centre store at 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Vancouver police say several shots were fired by two suspects but no one was hit. Heavily armed police surrounded the mall near Cambie and West 41st Avenue and arrested one suspect outside. The other suspect got away.
The security guard suffered a minor cut, and the female employee was hit over the head. Both are expected to make a full recovery.
The robbery left numerous people coughing from pepper spray but police wouldn't say who sprayed it.
