A brewery in North Vancouver, B.C., has partnered with North Shore Rescue to create a beer dedicated to the late rescue hero Tim Jones.

The brew, named “Shredder” after Jones’ nickname, started brewing Wednesday and will go on sale Nov. 15.

Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers say they created the Shredder Golden Ale to toast a man who did so much for the community.

All proceeds from sales will be given to the Tim Jones Legacy Fund.

Jones’ son Curtis was on hand to pour the first hops into the batch. He told CTV News he and his father would always have a glass of beer after a rescue to debrief.

“We had a chat. We talked about what went well, what went bad, and made ourselves better. You know, this will be a beer for us to do that with,” he said.

Jones died earlier this year after collapsing on a trail after a rescue on Mount Seymour.

The limited-edition beer will sold at select private liquor stores throughout the Lower Mainland.
