B.C. homicide investigators have arrested three people in connection with two 2009 targeted fatal shootings that happened only five days apart in Langley.

Laura Lynn Lamoureux, 36, was found shot to death on March 14. Mark Bontkes, 33, was gunned down in the parking lot of Surrey's Hi-Knoll Park on March 19, 2009.

Police say Roy Micheal Thielen, 30, and Robert David Bradshaw, 26, are each charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.

A third suspect, a 19-year-old woman, is also charged with first-degree murder in Bontke's death. Her name is not being released because she was 17-years-old at the time of the slaying.

The trio were arrested Friday.

Superintendent Dan Malo told reporters its 16-month investigation, E-PUGIL, revealed both incidents are linked to the low-level drug trade.

"These are targeted murders, these are not random and I think the community needs to hear that," Malo said.

Bontke's brother, Tim, said he knew his brother was involved in drugs and had debts but didn't think he would be killed over them. He said hearing about the arrests was bittersweet.

"Justice has gone its course and three people have been arrested and charged and I don't think we could ask for more," he said.

Mark Bontke left behind a wife, Chanel, and a three-year-old son, M.J. (Marc Junior).
