A 38-year-old Coquitlam man is accused of committing sex crimes against children whose mothers he met through social media.

Joel Scarff has been charged with four counts of sexual interference and two counts of invitation to sexual touching to persons under the age of 16.

Investigators believe he used social media to meet and date the mothers of his alleged younger victims.

Scarff was initially arrested on Jan. 2nd and released from custody Thursday with several strict conditions, including no contact with alleged victims and young person, no going to areas where young people are expected to be present, not working at a job that requires trust or authority of young people and not being around anyone under the age of 16 unless accompanied by an adult who is aware of his charges.

RCMP are appealing for other potential victims to come forward.

They're asking anyone who has met Scarff online or has further information to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

His next court appearance is Feb. 6. at Surrey provincial court.
