Police arrested a 27-year-old man on Saturday morning after a dead man and a woman suffering critical injuries were discovered in a North Vancouver apartment complex.

"At this point we are just waiting to confirm identities of victims as well as the suspect and how the three knew each other," RCMP Sgt. Jennifer Pound told ctvbc.ca.

Police arrived at the apartment located in the 500-block of West 28th Street around 1:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a neighbour who heard screaming and yelling.

The 27-year-old man, who is now in custody, was extremely uncooperative and combative when police found him in the residence, said Pound. He was restrained after being Tasered and pepper sprayed.

Investigators believe the three people knew each other and are calling the incident a domestic dispute.

The woman remains in hospital in critical condition. Investigators are now trying to figure out what prompted the violence.
