Senior clings to life after B.C. hit and run

An elderly woman is in hospital struggling to stay alive after a hit and run in White Rock, B.C., Wednesday morning.

The 77-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Marine Drive and Lee Street around 9:15 a.m.

She was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital, where she is now "fighting for her life," according to an RCMP release.

Police are looking for witnesses to the crash. Investigators believe that the vehicle involved was likely a large one -- possibly a big truck.

RCMP are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the White Rock detachment at 778-593-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
