Homicide investigators are renewing their call for information about a young mother who disappeared from her Coquitlam, B.C. home under suspicious circumstances more than a month ago.

Police with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team believe that 27-year-old Yating (Lancy) Hu met with foul play after going missing on July 16. Investigators have now determined that she was last seen leaving her apartment in the 2800-block of Nash Drive around 5:30 a.m.

The mother of two young children was reported missing by her ex-husband two days later. Officers say she may have been carrying a black backpack and an Apple MacBook laptop computer at the time of her disappearance, and are now asking anyone who may have come across those items to call police.

A friend and neighbour of the family says Hu was recently divorced and had moved to Burnaby. Her ex-husband first told police that he last saw the missing woman after dropping her off at her apartment near Metrotown on July 15, but investigators say his story has changed.

Hu does not have a vehicle and often uses public transportation. She is described as 5-7 tall, 119 pounds with shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. She speaks English and Mandarin.
