A well-known champion of the poor in Victoria says he's been told by his lawyer not to comment on a second allegation of sexual abuse dating back to when he worked for the United Church in Ontario.
Reverend Allen Tysick, known to the homeless in Victoria simply as Reverend Al, says he was served Wednesday in a $2 million lawsuit filed by a Carleton University professor.
Forty-five year old Collett Tracey alleges she was sexually exploited as a teenager by Tysick when he led a youth group at an Ottawa United Church.
In March of 2007, another Ontario woman, Jean Perkins, launched a $1 million lawsuit alleging Tysick sexually abused her over a period of two years in the 1990's.
Tysick says he's continuing to work as executive director of Our Place, a downtown Victoria drop-in centre and has hired an Ottawa lawyer to represent him in both civil suits.
