The B.C. government is seeking input from British Columbians on the use of cell phones and other electronic devices while driving.

The move comes after the Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles (OSMV) conducted an extensive review of distracted driving research. Part of that review looked at how other jurisdictions have responded to these issues.

The OSMV discussion paper titled "Addressing the Problem of Distracted Driving and its Impacts on Road Safety" and a short list of questions that interested individuals may respond to are posted at:

The Ministry of Public Safety and the Solicitor General

Individuals may also contact the Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles in writing or by phone for a copy of the discussion paper and questions. In Victoria, phone OSMV at (250) 952-6949.
