Provincial court judge named to B.C. Supreme Court
B.C. provincial court judge Gregory T.W. Bowden has been promoted to the province's Supreme Court.
Federal Minister of Justice and Attorney General Rob Nicholson announced the appointment Friday morning in Ottawa. It is effective immediately.
Bowden replaces former justice Kirsti Gill, who resigned in June.
Bowden graduated from the University of British Columbia law school in 1970 and worked at several Vancouver law firms until 2004.
He was appointed Queen's Counsel in B.C. in 1996 and was named to the provincial court bench in 2004.
His areas of adjudication have been criminal, family, and civil law.
