Hundreds of Gilmore Girls fans lined up for a taste of their favourite show at a one-day pop-up event in advance of the show's hotly-anticipated reboot.

On Wednesday, Trafiq Café & Bakery on Main Street was transformed into Luke's Diner, the famed Stars Hollow eatery where many of Rory and Lorelai's fast-talking discussions happened on the popular series.

Free coffee and show merchandise was being handed out until noon, by servers wearing Luke's branded aprons and shirts.

"I'm here because I love the Gilmore Girls," said longtime fan Taryn Stephenson, who brought her mom to the event.

"We used to watch the show together all the time and this is a celebration of it. It's really exciting."

It's just one of 200 Luke's Diners opening up across North America to promote the new series. Only four other Luke's were opened in Canada, all in Toronto.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is being released on Netflix on November 25. The series includes four 90-minute chapters.
