Police issued a second public warning Wednesday of a dangerous sex offender residing in Vancouver who they say poses a high risk to re-offend.

Lorne Michael Williams has been living in a halfway house in Vancouver since Sept. 23. The 39-year-old Caucasian man is 5-8, 150 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and a scar on his right hand.

Williams has committed sexual assaults against strangers while concealing his identity. He has been convicted for sexual assault with a weapon, attempted kidnapping and disguise with intent.

Police said in a release that he poses significant risk to adolescent and adult females.

Const. Lindsey Houghton told ctvbc.ca that police had previously warned the public about Williams on Oct. 3, 2008.

"What's happened since then is that he's been back to prison to serve out the rest of his sentence for a probation offence," he said.

Conditions of Williams' release require him not to use computers or the internet, not to be in the company of females under the age of 19 and not to possess pornography.
