It’s been almost 50 years since a young, fresh-faced Paul McCartney twisted and shouted in front of screaming teenagers at Empire Stadium in Vancouver, but this November will see an end to the hiatus of the “cute” member of the Beatles.

McCartney will hit the stage at BC Place Stadium November 25 as part of his On The Run tour, which began last year.

The last time McCartney played a show in Vancouver, he was a member of the Fab Four during their 1964 North American tour.

Jody Tennant wasn’t alive for the 1964 concert, but said he won’t miss the November show.

Tennant plays the part of McCartney in the Vancouver Beatles tribute band, the Fab Fourever.

“My wife, myself, my children; we’re all huge fans,” said Tennant. “He’s inspired us.”

Six years ago, Tennant met McCartney backstage at a show in Toronto.

The meeting inspired Tennant to learn the bass guitar.

No matter what financial complications may stand in the way, Tennant said he will see his muse play live in Vancouver.

“We’re going to do the best to get the best tickets we can,” said Tennant. “We’ve got to do what we’ve got to do.”

Tickets for the November concert start at $35, about five bucks in 1964 dollars.

Since McCartney’s last appearance in the city, only two Beatles are left following the murder of John Lennon in 1980 and the death of George Harrison due to lung cancer in 2001.

After the Vancouver show, McCartney heads to Rexall Place in Edmonton for a concert on Nov. 28.
