WorkSafe BC has launched an investigation following a fatal industrial accident in East Vancouver Friday morning.

There are reports that a crane worker was electrocuted after the machine came into contact with power lines.

The accident happened at a site on East 29th Ave. and Slocan around 11 a.m.

Last month, power to 2,600 Kitsilano customers was knocked out after a construction crane struck a live wire.

The crane operator managed to escape uninjured, but the accident sparked a large fire.
