The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Martin Jones of the Calgary Hitmen is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the week, for the week ending November 16.

Jones was near perfect this past week with the Hitmen, as the native of North Vancouver, B.C., posted a 3-0-0-0 record, allowing just three goals on 66 shots for a 1.000 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage. Jones started his week with a first star performance earning the 2-1 victory with 23 saves to beat the Swift Current Broncos. Jones was named the third star of the game Friday night when his 22 saves helped the Hitmen win a tight 2-1 decision over the Brandon Wheat Kings. Jones finished his week Saturday making 18 saves in the 6-1 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Jones is in his third season with the Calgary Hitmen. After going unselected at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, he was offered a free agent try-out with the Los Angeles Kings later in the summer. Following a great rookie camp and tremendous main camp, the Kings decided to sign Jones to a three year entry level NHL contract.
