Mounties are hunting for multiple suspects after a man was shot in the hand in Surrey’s Clayton Heights neighbourhood Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses said the victim drove a van into the area of 192A Street and 72nd Avenue while being chased by several vehicles and shot at.

The van was abandoned at the scene with a flat front tire.

An employee at a nearby pizza restaurant told CTV News the victim came into the store bleeding and asked for help. He was taken to Langley General Hospital for treatment.

RCMP said it’s too soon to say if the shooting was targeted, or how many shots were fired.

The surrounding area was cordoned off with police tape Wednesday evening while police interviewed witnesses.

No arrests have been made.
