A 22-year-old woman is dead after an SUV smashed into an ATV on B.C.’s Sunshine Coast Friday.
The young woman was riding on an ATV driven by a 20-year old woman on Mason Mine Site Forest Service Road in Sechelt around 5:30 p.m. when the ATV was hit by the other vehicle, Sunshine Coast RCMP said in a news release.
Police said the 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the ATV suffered minor injuries.
A 19-year-old man from Sechelt was driving the SUV that also carried a 16-year-old passenger.
Mounties said alcohol did not contribute to the crash, but several other factors, including speed, are being investigated.
