Police have identified the man who died after being shot while driving in East Vancouver Wednesday afternoon.
Cliff Soumphonh Thammavongsa, 22, was shot in the 1500-block of E. 10th Avenue, near Commercial Drive, around 1 p.m.
Early indications are that the shooting was targeted, a Vancouver police spokesperson said. There are no suspects in custody and no suspect descriptions.
Investigators spent yesterday afternoon canvassing the residential area for evidence. Homicide detectives are asking residents to report any suspicious activity or materials they may have found in their yards.
Thammavongsa, a Metro Vancouver resident, was not known to police. His death is the city’s second homicide of 2010.
