Lauren Pullen
Lauren Pullen is the weekend anchor for CTV News at Six and CTV News at 11:30 in Vancouver.
An award-winning journalist, Lauren’s career has taken her throughout the country and across the world, with her first break on the airwaves in Melbourne, Australia.
She gained invaluable experience working in several markets in radio and television news in B.C., Saskatchewan and Alberta, most recently spending nearly five years as a breaking news reporter and anchor in Calgary.
Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Lauren was thrilled to join the talented CTV News Vancouver team in 2022.
Lauren thrives on live, breaking news. She’s covered massive forest fires and unprecedented floods that forced thousands of people to flee their homes, helping inform those affected that they needed to evacuate to safety. Providing people with vital information in their greatest time of need gives Lauren a huge sense of value and pride in the work she does.
Lauren received a breaking news RTDNA award for her coverage of Calgary’s COVID-19 lockdown. Her trusted sources confirmed what major restrictions were set to be announced in a provincial-wide address by Alberta government to try and slow the spread of the virus and avoid hospitals from collapsing. During an unscripted, live special newscast she detailed how widespread the measures would be, their impact to Calgarians and the experiences medical professional on the frontlines shared with her about the overwhelmed health-care system. She has also been part of other team coverage awards for breaking news and best newscast, and was a finalist for her documentary Calgary Cares, which highlighted the selfless acts of generosity and kindness of Calgarians during the first year of the pandemic.
In her spare time, Lauren loves to travel. From trekking along the Inca Trail to the magical hidden city of Machu Picchu, to climbing Mount Vesuvius solo on a spur of the moment trip to Italy, Lauren loves to explore the many wonders our world has to offer. She also spends all the time she can with her dog, Nigel.
