Police now suspect that a B.C. teen who disappeared from a house party two years ago was met with foul play, and have turned over the case to homicide investigators.

Jodi Henrickson was last seen on Bowen Island on June 20, 2009. The 17-year-old Squamish girl had spoken to her parents the day before, telling them that she was going camping for the weekend.

Henrickson's 19th birthday would have been on Wednesday.

Investigators are calling the disappearance suspicious, and the case is now in the hands of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. Police are focusing their investigation on Bowen Island, a 20-minute ferry ride from the Vancouver suburb of Horseshoe Bay.

At the time of her disappearance, police said they were aware of her troubled relationship with an ex-boyfriend, Gavin Arnott.

Arnott told CTV News in 2009 that he last saw Henrickson on the side of a road on Bowen Island after the party. He said that they were arguing and she walked off, never to be seen again.

Arnott has been interrogated by police, who have also searched his father's Bowen Island property, but he has denied any involvement in her disappearance.
