Two people have died after a head-on collision in Langley, B.C. at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police.

Cpl. Holly Marks said two adults were driving in a red Jeep Cherokee on 16th Avenue east of 208 Street when the driver attempted to illegally pass another vehicle.

The SUV crashed head on into a dump truck. The driver of the dump truck suffered minor injuries.

Police are asking a potential witness, the driver of a green sedan, to come forward.

The area remains closed as emergency crews process the scene.
