The body of a B.C. woman missing for almost a week has been found by her family in Chilliwack.

Maple Ridge resident Linda Mitchell had last been seen leaving a Hope-area hotel on July 27, and her car turned up the next day outside a pub in Chilliwack.

Mitchell's family made a plea for help finding her on Sunday, saying her disappearance was uncharacteristic. They made the sad discovery of her body Monday morning.

Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, but RCMP say that foul play is not suspected.

The cause of the 61-year-old's death is not being released until an autopsy is complete.
