A Maui-bound WestJet flight leaving from Vancouver International Airport was aborted Monday morning over a blown tire.

Passengers were offloaded onto the runway by first responders and taken back to the terminal by bus.

The airport said emergency responders were on scene and there were no injuries reported.

The South Runway was closed and all arrivals and departures were rerouted to the North Runway.

A spokesperson said no flights were delayed over the incident.

WestJet said affected passengers would depart for Hawaii on another aircraft this afternoon.
