An investigation is underway in Surrey following the death of a man shot by an RCMP officer Friday night.
According to the Independent Investigations Office, Surrey RCMP were called to a residence in North Surrey to check on the welfare of a man.
Few details are available but during the course of the interaction with the adult male, an RCMP officer shot the man.
He was taken to the hospital but did not survive.
According to the IIO, investigators were called to the scene at 10:15 p.m.
