Update: An investigation has determined there's nothing suspicious about the death of a man whose body was found in an Abbotsford park last week.

Police said the 57-year-old's name will not be released to respect the wishes of his family.

Previous story: Police are treating the death of a 54-year-old man whose body was discovered in an Abbotsford park Friday morning as suspicious.

The deceased, who is believed to have been homeless, was found in Lonzo Creek Park around 11:30 a.m.

His identity hasn’t been released, but police said he’s a 54-year-old Abbotsford resident.

Sgt. Casey Vinet said coroners are still working to determine the cause of death.

“We are treating it as suspicious,” Vinet said. “The coroner will be involved in the investigation along with our Abbotsford Police Detective Squad and our Forensic Identification Services.”

There are a number of different homeless camps in the camp, according to police.
