One man was fortunate to escape a fully-involved house fire in Kitsilano early Saturday morning.
The fire started in a two-storey home on West 5th Avenue just before 1 a.m. but fire crews were able to quickly put it out.
Vancouver Fire Batallion Chief Rod MacDonald said the home was built in the 1930s and was not outfitted with sprinklers.
“We had one person transported to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation, and we do have some people who have been displaced by this fire,” MacDonald said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
