Coquitlam residents apprehended a man who is accused of causing thousands of dollars in damage to several vehicles Friday night.
Witnesses said a man was driving a silver BMW about 100 kilometers per hour along Linton Avenue just after 12:00 a.m. and ended up hitting four parked cars.
Two of the damaged cars belonged to Kaitlyn Traviss and her family.
“I see my neighbour’s car just completely totalled on the street and then my car… the back of it was smashed in and then it ran into my uncle’s car,” Traviss said. “Then I saw the driver just take off up the street, and then a few of the neighbours were just chasing him and then they caught him and then the police took him into custody.”
Witnesses also said the man was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
RCMP did not provide further information about the incident on Saturday. There are no reports of injuries.
