VANCOUVER -- A firearms investigation prompted a large police presence in Langley overnight.

Mounties surrounded a home on 232nd Street Thursday night. Witnesses said they'd seen at least 10 police vehicles, and noticed officers searching the home and surrounding area.

A high-end SUV was towed from the scene.

Mounties told CTV News it was the Surrey RCMP's Strike Force Target Team that was behind the sudden appearance of police in the neighbourhood.

The team was executing a search warrant in relation to an ongoing firearms investigation, officials said.

A number of items were seized at the property, but the RCMP would not provide details on what those items were.
