Why would someone want to kill Robert Adams?

That's the question Langley, B.C. RCMP and Adams' co-workers have been asking since the popular businessman was gunned down last Thursday morning.

The shooter was waiting for Adams as he arrived at his workplace in Langley.

The victim, is currently in a drug induced coma in Royal Columbia Hospital in New Westminster.

His business partner has no clue why he anyone would try to kill him.

"I just can't understand why he's a victim, he's a businessman this isn't supposed to happen, said Chris Slattery President, Blue Curl, an information technology firm

Bob Adams worked in the information technology business, as the vice president, finance for Blue Curl.

"We really need to get Bob back in the saddle because I'm not an accountant, so this is really going to hurt," said Slattery.

Police have seized his computer. His coworkers say he wasn't working on anything sensitive, although they claim he was a caring guy who loved wine, and a special woman.

"Right now this has the earmarks of a specific targeted attack," Langley RCMP Const. Patrick Davies.

The question is, why was he targeted?

"Mr Adams is by all accounts, a very well respected businessman and volunteer. He is not known to police,'' said Davies

Adams was shot in the back parking lot of the Community Policing office, a busy area of Langley. Police are hoping someone saw something unusual on the morning of July 10th between 6:15 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

"I talked yesterday and he's blinking his eyes. I think he's going to make it,'' said Slattery.
