Kelowna Mounties and the BC Coroners Service are investigating the suspicious deaths of three individuals in the Rutland area of Kelowna.

Police were called to a residence on Bolotzky Court at around 5 p.m. on Dec. 19 to speak to an individual. When Mounties entered the house, they found three deceased individuals who have not been identified.

One man is now in custody.

"This investigation is in its infancy stages," said Const. Lesley Smith Kelowna RCMP in a press release. "RCMP continue to secure the property as our serious crimes and specially trained forensic investigators examine the inside of the residence."

Jeff McLeod, a neighbour who has lived on Bolotzky Court since 1994 told CTV News that the incident was extremely unusual in his neighbourhood.

"We’ve never had anything like this going here," he said.

McLeod said the individuals living in the house, who he believed were a man, woman and some children, were very quiet and didn’t attract attention. A man with the same name as the one listed as the owner of the house works for Ace Plumbing and Heating.

"Once in a blue moon, you’d see them. Most of the time, I’d seen the guy when he was going or coming home from work in that Ace Plumbing truck…it’s just weird that something like this would happen here when they’re quiet neighbours," he said. "If there’s kids involved then that’s the worst thing of it all."

RCMP are expected to release more information as it becomes available.
