Housing Minister Rich Coleman is considering a law that would force homeless people into shelters during frigid weather.

Coleman says he has spoken with the premier about possible legislation.

He says police should have the power to move homeless people into shelters for their own safety.

The proposal follows the death of a woman in Vancouver after her makeshift shelter caught fire as she tried to stay warm during the recent cold snap.
