Vancouver police are on the lookout for a high-risk sex offender in the community.

Darren Wheatley missed his curfew Wednesday night and is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching court-imposed release conditions.

He is serving a 10-year sentence for two counts of sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm and two counts of overcoming resistance by choking in three separate incidents where he attacked women in Ontario.

He was last seen leaving a halfway house in the Vancouver’s downtown east side at the corner of East Cordova and Columbia Streets.

Wheatley is 44-years-old, First Nations, stands 6' and weighs 200 pounds with a large build. He has short black hair and brown eyes.

The VPD are warning the public to not approach the man and to call 911 immediately if they see him or know his whereabouts.
