If your company was increasing sales by 20 per cent a month you would be on a hot streak.

An Ottawa tech firm is doing just that, as they help clients tap into what consumers think about a whole range of subjects.

At the daily morning staff meeting for the 11 employees at Chide IT you will find a group of young computer savvy workers who have built up what is now Canada's number one company for online surveys.

There are likely five or six hundred companies in the field and their global business is worth half a billion dollars and growing at over 20 percent a year. Aydin Mirzaee is just 25 years old co-founder of Chide IT which is his third tech company.

He felt he could build better survey software and give people the tools to build a do-it yourself survey or hire Chide IT for custom design work.

After 3 years of work it's paying off, literally, Mirzaee took no pay from the firm for the first two years. "We now have over 10,000 people using our software and its growing quickly. It has been growing by 20 per cent a month for the last few months. Word of mouth is now really kicking in."

Helping guide the new firm is a veteran of technology. The man who helps start up March Networks and now advises firms on how to get their technology to market. Eli Fathi says the internet lets you go global for a low cost but the key is patience

"Absolutely! and that is why Aydin is so amazing for such a young man to have so much patience when you don't find that with investors or other people, they all just want everything right away and I can't tell you how many firms I have seen fail because they want to move so fast. It just won't work."

Now that Chide IT has paying customers they're coming out of stealth mode to talk about what they do. Surveys have always been crucial to help tap into public opinion for everything from restaurants to politics David Colleto's company, Abacus Data of Ottawa collects and analyzes data then advises clients on the actions they should take. He has used Chide IT and he says online is now the place to find out what people are thinking.

"I think when you bring even three or four bright computer people together and then have leaders like Ayden and Eli you can get amazing results."
