A 33-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds after a lone gunman opened fire in an East Vancouver restaurant during Thursday’s noon hour.
Police arrived to find the injured man inside the Lam Hoa Quan Restaurant on Victoria Drive near East 34th Avenue shortly before 1 p.m.
Investigators say the suspect fled out of the back of the building and into a waiting vehicle.
The victim was rushed to hospital and is in critical but stable condition. Police won’t speculate on a motive but believe the incident is targeted.
An area on both streets, as well as a back alley, were cordoned off by police tape as officers combed the scene and spoke to witnesses.
