Dozens of volunteers will be gathering in Merritt Saturday morning to help in the search for a missing father of three.

Dean Morrison, 44, was last seen on the morning of October 22nd, leaving his job at the Stump Lake Ranch outside of Merritt.

He was having car trouble and called a tow truck, but when it arrived, he was gone. He left all of his possessions behind.

Morrison’s sister, Michelle, reported him missing on October 28 and tells CTV News the family is desperate for any information about what’s happened to him.

She says Morrison has never gone missing before and he adores his three children.

The RCMP conducted an air and ground search of the Stump Lake Ranch area on October 31 without success.

Now, Morrison’s friends and family are organizing a search of their own. Volunteers will be gathering Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Extra Foods.

They’ve been granted permission to search the ranch grounds. Volunteers are being asked to wear warm clothing and bright colours because it’s hunting season.

Anyone with information about Morrison can phone the Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262
