VANCOUVER -- Two major stores have now opened their doors in the brand new Vancouver House development.

Located on the north end of the Granville Street Bridge in downtown Vancouver, the Beach District is an area in the midst of a revitilization.

The excitement among residents who have already come by to check out Fresh St. Market and London Drugs has been palpable.

There is an overall sense that this community is ready for exciting new options to enjoy.

Fresh St. Market is not a new face to the Lower Mainland. This B.C.-owned grocer has locations in West Vancouver, Surrey and Whistler.

However, the Vancouver House store is a brand new-concept for them.

There is an immense focus on being hyper-local and creating an environment that is experiential. You will be able to find new products from local farms, while at the same time you can discover delectable cheeses from around the globe.

The bakery has an endless selection of treats to enjoy. One of the highlights is "The Cookie," which truly needs to be tried to understand just how delightful it is. The Cookie is served warm and fresh with gooey chocolate and just the right amount of crunch.

The grocery store also features a restaurant called Fork Lift Kitchen & Bar. This is a 50-seat licensed eatery that uses ingredients from Fresh St. Market. They feature an abundance of craft beer on tap.

Fresh St. market brings a public market-like experience to the neighbourhood with plenty of new items to discover every visit.

London Drugs has a rich history in Vancouver and is 100 per cent Canadian-owned. Many are familiar with the superior shopping experience it provides.

The London Drugs team has always remained passionate about giving back and being involved within the communities it serves. The new London Drugs location in the Beach District is a welcomed addition to the neighbourhood. The company looks forward to being part of the revitilzation story of this area.

Both Fresh St. Market and London Drugs share a strong focus on giving back.

During their time on CTV Morning Live, two presentations were made on the show.

Fresh St. Market donated $5000 to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. London Drugs donated $15,000 to support Covenant House Vancouver.
