A boxing club for at-risk youth was among the casualties of a fire Saturday.

Volunteers worked Sunday to put back the pieces after the fire, which likely started in a bottom-floor office on Commerical Drive.

Jordan Bowers, director of the Eastside Boxing Club said the destruction was a shock.

"Some of us, maybe most of us, had a cry already last night and we got it out," he said.

The Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society has donated $1000 to the boxing club.

"We're in the business of being in the community 24/7,” Joe Foster of Vancouver Fire Rescue Services said. “And, any type of resource like this that takes kids at-risk off the streets...it's just a good life skill," he said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
