A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a small fire broke out in a marijuana grow-op in Langley on Thursday.

The fire broke out at around noon at a home in the area of 204 Street and 76 Avenue. Police said the home was being used to house growing marijuana plants.

Few details have been provided so far, but officials on scene said the fire was small and caused very little damage. Police were seen hauling chemicals out of the home after the fire was knocked down.

Two males had been in the home at the time, but only one was injured. Investigators have not said how he was injured, but that his condition is serious.

Neighbours told CTV News that they believed the grow operation in the home was licensed, but police said they are still working with Health Canada to confirm its status.

RCMP drug investigators said it is too early to determine whether any charges will be laid.
